Welcome to Kibera women self help NGO

kibera women self help is a women’s organization in Kenya and have been assigned the project of leading a team of five volunteers in setting up women self help groups in Kibera. Located in Nairobi, Kibera is the largest urban slum in Africa.

  1. The overall goal of the project is economic independence for the women. Each self help group will work towards creating and selling traditional jewellery and handicrafts from Kenya.

I am Patience Falasi Banga, Agriculture Information and Communication Management master student at Egerton University Kenya and am from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I have completed my course work and developed thesis on integrated spatial analytical methods, social data and land use information with the goal of improving land use decision making and livelihoods in Congo’s mangroves rural regions.
